Man-days measure how long inspections take. These help quality control agents and inspection engineers determine the amount of time and cost requirements for inspection of goods in China.
- Example 1: One man-day can consist of one workday for one Quality Control staff member.
- Example 2: Two man-days can be one Quality Control staff member working over two days. Alternatively, it can represent one day of work for two Quality Control staff members.
Pre-shipment inspections typically take one man-day. The actual time required for each inspection depends on several factors:
- The quantity, sizes, and packaging of the product(s)
- The number of parts and the functional complexity of the product(s)
- The scope of the customized checklist created for each inspection
- The amount of travel time to and from the factory for each inspection – these are sometimes counted as half-days
Most inspections take place in your supplier’s facility. FBABEE can also coordinate and conduct inspections in our warehouses. However, we only recommend this after you’ve built trust with your suppliers because returning and fixing defective products can prove more challenging if your suppliers aren’t reliable, honest partners.
